About CHARLIE

A woman in a striped dress and wide-brimmed hat holding two young boys in vintage clothing at an outdoor event with people, umbrellas, and trees in the background.

I've always thrown my body into the deep end. Tango in 4" heels, wildland firefighting with a chainsaw, trapeze, and the controlled chaos of raising twins — my life has been a series of bold, sometimes questionable movement choices. What looks impulsive from the outside usually has a spreadsheet behind it.

I spent many seasons on the fire line — handcrew, helitack, and Schedule B municipal response with CalFire in Magalia, Paradise, Chico, and Los Gatos. When a rare heart diagnosis ended that chapter, I moved into research and project management, working with startups at the intersection of engineering and design. I'm a natural researcher and a compulsive data-puller — before I make a decision I want to understand the whole landscape.

That's how I came to Pilates. I didn't stumble in — I investigated it. What I found was a complete movement system with a documented lineage, a coherent philosophy, and decades of results that the fitness industry has spent considerable energy obscuring. I showed up to my first class held together by sheer willpower: ruined knees, bunions from genetics and a lifelong love of fabulous shoes, and a core that had taken a serious hit from the aforementioned twins. Through the lineage of Joe Pilates, Romana, Eve, Ron, and the Contrology tradition I started to put myself back together.

I'm not an inventor. I believe in the system Joe assembled — and I care deeply about teaching it with the integrity it deserves. I'm currently completing a B.S. in Fire Science and developing movement programming for fire departments and academies, because that population deserves wellness programs as rigorous as their work.

Whether you're coming in strong or coming in held together with optimism, we'll find your strength.
